aaron nevezie

Aaron Nevezie is a Brooklyn, NYC based musician, producer and engineer. Originally from Auckland, NZ he moved to NYC in 1998 to complete a degree (BFA) in jazz performance at the New School University. There he studied with Reggie Workman, Peter Bernstein, George Garzone, Vic Juris, Ben Street to name a few.

Since then he has played guitar and bass on numerous recordings and toured extensively through the US with artists such as Nicole Atkins (Columbia), Natalie Walker (Dorado), Ambulance Ltd (TVT), Tama Waipara and Spielerfrau. In 1997 the album 'Take Me With You' co-led with Chris White was awarded Jazz Album of the Year.

As an engineer and producer Aaron has worked on many records, some recent notable releases are Natalie Walker 'With You', Lowry 'Love Is Dead', Sam Barsh 'I Forgot What You Taught Me', Rebecca Collins 'Chameleon Blues', Tama Waipara's 'Leaving Paradise', Phonograph 'Phonograph'. He has worked with Matisyahu, Ambulance Ltd, Richard Julien, Charlie Hunter, Ryan Scott, Valeze, Lowry, Christina Courtin, Sam Barsh, Avi Fox-Rosen, Rebecca Collins etc. As house engineer at the Jazz Standard he has run live sound for a who's who of international jazz including Brad Meldhau, Brian Blade, Bill Frisell, Chris Potter, Steve Wilson, Larry Goldings, Dr Lonnie Smith, Bill Stewart, Jazz Composers Collective, Ben Allison, Michael Blake etc.

Aaron is the co-owner with John Davis of The Bunker Studio which is a music recording studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NYC.
